Interview with {SoE}PimpMyGun

1 As a clan, SoE has gone into general inactiveness over the past year. Why do you think this is and do you think it will ever become as active as it used to be? How tempting has it been to switch to a more active clan?

SoE is inactive much longer, even since 1.1 RD Tournament 2010, when we did not move out from our group and people started to leave clan. I just woke up few old most loyal members to play 1.0 VIP Tournament 2011. Many people moved to other clans, when SoE started losing matches vs 1.1. You can find some ex.SoE`s in WM and ND. Many people just stopped playing SWAT 4 and now they play some more `fresh` titles. We are now a totally not attractive SWAT 4 team to join in, with empty server and inactive leaders in game. People that made most of work for SoE have not much time to spend on it now. Some more ambitious players moved to more ambitious teams, even I was leaving SoE several times, because I was angry for lack of discipline and will of change in SoE, but old love never gets rusty :) also only Maverick and Viper had most patience for my frills, some leaders like Olsen or tony_montana had not so much patience as they had :) anyway SoE is now pack of mates to laugh at forum or our shoutbox :) for me it is totally fine :)

About the future, we are going to become a community, we have some BF players (Battlefield, not Boyfriends :D), also some people are playing GTA online, so the plan is to expand to another games. Just stay tuned at :P

Latest ViP clan member update

French cheater "hunter" sirius has re-joined his old clan SoH; Russian player xxx - known for his catchphrase 'hehe KIDS' - has joined {|SMC|} (after leaving US and being rejected by KL), and ex-SoH Crotales has also joined SMC - the belgian's 4th different clan in 3 months. One of the greatest clan-jumpers Vishal has been rejected twice from Special Marine Corps already. Meanwhile, there are rumours that Jackal/Scarecrow, who "left" SWAT 4 a month ago, is going to make a predictable return very soon.

XoX_Cz's cheating history

Some may remember the name {B4E}GLaDOS, the man who was caught by UAC on January 22nd this year, with screenshots showing folders named "SWAT 4 Hacks" visible on his desktop. After a tip-off from an anonymous person, we found that that his past history lied in Shadow of Heroes ViP clan - he used the nickname «|SoH|»XoX. He made his own free ucoz website showing videos of himself using hacks in SWAT 4 as well as supposedly providing links to where others could download them, which lead to him being kicked from SoH (you heard that right). We are told the site was taken down a few days after he was kicked.

Right now we are unaware as to which clan he resides in (if any), but a clan giving this player a third chance - after ex-B4E leader famously said: "if our bro GLaDOS cheat 1000 time he will still be in the house" -  is not out of the question.

Old video shows why .45 SMG should be unblocked

Many servers block the use of .45 SMG weapon, but this video below shows that only a certain type of ammo (JHP bullets) can cause a bug where kills can be made through doors and objects.

By writing the following line in the server config...
ReplaceEquipment=SwatAmmo.UMP45SMG_JHP SwatAmmo.UMP45SMG_FMJ
...players are unable to use the bugged ammo and this hence turns the .45 into a normal weapon.

Interview with «|US|»Narko

1 It has been almost two years since you were appointed as acting-leader in US. How has it been, what have been the highs and lows personally for you?

Being part of the leadership of «|US|» has been, and still is, great. I have been in this clan since I started playing Swat 4, and leading it with my two best friends in the game, is awesome. Of course there have been ups and downs, the worst parts being when good friends leave the clan to join other clans, or leaving because they quit playing the game. Naming the best parts is hard, since 95% of the time has been good. But I guess the best times has been playing and having fun with friends for thousands of hours. And of course, making new friends through the game as well.

According to their website, Brotherhood of Steel clan {BoS} have closed. However, a brand new clan, lead by ex-SuR leader Bulldog, has been officially opened today. The Special Marine Corps, with tag {|SMC|}, has a server online already and will reportedly be a ViP clan in both 1.0 and 1.1.

UAC celebrates 6th birthday

Interview with FoX|Mig

1 The Rapid Deployment area in 1.0 has very little activity with only a few active servers. Why do you think this is the case?

Since I started playing SWAT4 (4 years ago?) RD was the mode with least servers. BS being first, maybe also thanks to the fact that it is first in the list when you filter servers. I'm not sure why was it like that back then. Today, new RD clans still emerge. But in this mode, there are few clans that really know how to play this mode (WM, KL and some BS 1.1 clans are also able to form strong RD teams for tournaments). Now imagine, a new clan appears and we, like carnivores immediately challenge them for war. Look their forums: me, Sabbath or Freddy/EmoPig are spamming everywhere :) The match usually ends 8:0, 6:0. Rarely new clan wins one round. It must be pretty disappointing for them so they loose motivation and change to BS or VIP, where you can find a number of clans of all quality levels - everyone can choose an appropriate opponent.

Double-wins for |DWMT| and hfbc||

There were impressive double-wins for Don't Waste My Time |DWMT| clan and hfbc|| in the Premier League. The table and forum will get updated after tomorrow's match FoX| vs |SAM|, which FoX could win to go potentially 7 points clear at the top (albeit having played a few games more).

«|T3F|» merge with 3A|»

Members of Tactical Elite Force have joined Against All Authority ViP clan as part of a merge. This automatically means T3F drops out of the ongoing ViP tournament - meaning 8 teams remain in the league (the consequences of this will be updated on the tournament forum shortly).

Range IP of world-class clan jumper

A couple of months back we wrote about a clan jumper called Vishal, and the 14-year-old has continued his acts in recent weeks. Here is a full account of his most recent activity:

-Joins UFF with nickname Trojan. Eventually leaves them, saying he is 'leaving' SWAT 4. Leaving post link
-Just a few minutes later on the same day, asks to join SoH. Gets accepted on same day in SoH (link unavailable due to SoH site hackings)
-Leaves SoH 2 weeks later, applies to join {|4U|} with nickname Godzilla
-Gets no reply, so goes to US forums and applies there with nick Smog US Apply link
-Gets no reply again, starts begging to get accepted
-Makes another apply topic on US forums, with nickname Matrix (link unavailable, topic likely deleted)
-Gets rejected again. But this doesn't the stop the little boob. Applies for a third time in US, this time with nick No_One. Claiming he is from Finland, gets a recruit *R rank, but now likely to get kicked again.

Now the important bit - for all clans, if you recieve an application topic in the future from someone with IP range 122.164.*.*, it's likely to be the same child. Thanks to {|4U|}JoJo for acquiring this info.

Classic example of a poor admin

Not many people have entrusted ViP player Fuzip with admin power in his previous clans, but UAC cheater Neo seemed happy to give him it (Great_Shu) in CRP clan. Results of decisions like these are shown in the video; random kicks (seemingly because the vip covered himself by spraying a respawned suspect and got killed) and even a ban for successive reconnects.

More member updates

Former Knights of the Night {KoN} member MissVampire is likely to join {KL}Kahuna Land clan in the next few days. Ex-SoH member Crotales has left CoB, and now turns his attention to his latest project, The Fun Factory. Clan leadership has been handed over to DaisY and Aragorn in SoH although "clan control" remains fully with Raptor, the famous multiple UAC cheater.

BS clans admit to editing .inis, undetected by UAC

Some Barricaded Suspects clans over the past few months have admitted to allowing their members to edit their .ini files, claiming it is not a hack as it is undetected by UAC. Here you can find an interesting read as to why editing .inis IS a form of cheating, and that editing them in 1.1 is also very possible -

Interviews coming soon

As part of an initiative to keep things fresh on S4N, we will soon be introducing interviews with clan leaders asking them their opinions on the community, 1.0 1.1 tensions, how to avoid recruiting clan jumpers and treatment of hackers, in order to make a successful clan. Stay tuned...

UAC, April-fools and more

The latest "high-profile" UAC 1.0 cheater was polish player Sonny, although arguments have risen since this incident, as many of his close friends 'know' that he does not cheat (in 1.1), while the player himself states he was "testing 1.0 cheats a long time ago and forgot to remove them". It brings up the same old topic; since UAC doesn't state whether cheats were in use or not, are more innocent players being banned, or is it completely their fault for clicking "I agree" when UAC warns them not to use cracked games with possible pre-included cheats?

In other news, it seems clans did not share many public April 1st Fools jokes - UAC themselves used an "International Space Station" joke on their website, with the first ever earth-space LAN party and laser datas from the Eiffel Tower to compensate for the lag. More of that here

Wins for EPIC, FoX and hfbc

In week 3 of the ViP league there were wins for EPIC, FoX and hfbc. The 3A-T3F match will likely be arranged another day since there have been disagreements over timings. The table and results/screens will all be updated tomorrow morning on the forum, when S4N has had some rest!
